About Our Founder
Diego
Raigosa was born in Medellin, Colombia South America. A
city of contrast; considered
by most people as the most dangerous city
in the Western Hemisphere
but also full of
beauty.
His father,
Fernando, was a handyman making minimum wage. His mother,
Maria, was a stayed-at-home mother. Diego’s childhood contains
lots of happy memories with his 4 sisters and his parents but as
it would be expected: "a very painful financial struggle for a family of
seven". Quite often Diego went to bed without food and had to
walk miles to get to school. He recalls the empty picture of
the refrigerator with just a jar of cold water.
At age 9,
Diego started swimming and playing Water Polo at the “Piscina
Olimpica” in Medellin, Colombia. Shortly he became an
outstanding athlete representing his State in many national
tournaments. Often adopted by his teammates’ families for short
periods of times to ensure Diego received proper meals so he
could keep up with the demanding sport of Water Polo. His
Water
Polo coach noticed Diego’s financial struggles and offered to
pay for his transportation so he could come to the swimming
practices. He made arrangements to provide Diego with nutrition
supplements and medical assistance. Diego traveled extensively
throughout the Americas in his teen years as part of the
Colombian National Water Polo team. Participated in a Water
Polo World Cup in Sao Paolo, Brazil to what he calls “Once in
a lifetime memory to share with my children”.
Since then,
Diego had the opportunity to go back to Colombia to thank his
coach and to repay his assistance.
Self
motivated and determined to get out of poverty; Diego finished
high school and completed his first year of college in Physical
Education. Diego then decided to come to the United States.
Diego came
to the United States in June 1989. Soon after his arrival,
Diego attended ESL programs and later enrolled in a Computer
Science earning his college degree in 1994.
Before
starting his own business, Diego worked at MDW, Medical Manager
/ Web MD, IBM and Seagrams in the Information
Systems Department.
In 1996
Diego started PC Anywhere Group, LLC and later sold the business
for a profit.
In 2000
Diego started another enterprise call CSS On Site, LLC that
provided computer support to small businesses. His business
grew and was later merged into The Computer Support People, LLC
of today.
